My Favourite 3 Restaurants Leicester has to offer

My Favourite 3 Restaurants Leicester has to offer Having a partner currently studying at Leicesters Beaumontford University, I have eaten my fair share of meals from the best (and sometimes worst) restaurants Leicester has to show. My partner being a vegetarian and myself not, may fool you into thinking that I have been limited to certain places, however, I believe that I have had the best of both worlds, so here are my own personal top 3 restaurants that Leicester has to offer. 1. Bobbys restaurant in Leicester - 154-156 Belgrave Road, Leicester, LE4 5AD Like most cities, the Curry Restaurants Leicester has on show are vast in number, in fact the all the Curry Restaurants Leicester does have are situated in an area commonly known as Curry Mile but for me, one stands out from the rest, and that would be Bobbys. Like myself, you may find that going out for a Curry can be difficult when you have a partner who leads a vegetarian lifestyle, however Bobbys is fantastic in the fact that it boasts a vegetarian menu alongside its other traditional Indian cuisine. 2. The Peacock restaurant in Leicester - 15-16 St. Marys Place Market Harborough LE16 7DR Although technically a pub-restaurant, The Peacock is staying on this list purely because it beats many of the restaurants Leicester has on offer for food and price. Being a student, I am of simple taste, and whilst many of the restaurants Leicester boasts are fantastic, I can find them sometimes a little overcomplicated with their menus. The Peacock however suits my needs with a menu that includes traditional British food such as Fish and Chips and a traditional British breakfast, served along with a fantastic set of real-ales. I can quite easily understand that The Peacock would not be to every bodies taste, however, for me, again pointing out my student status, price is important, with many of the restaurants Leicester has on show charging what most people would call fair yet I would simply call high, The Peacock does not, and for that reason it comes in at number 2 on my list 3. Houstons Bar and Grill restaurant in Leicester - 2 Yeoman Street, Leicester, LE1 1UT Without a doubt my favourite of the restaurants Leicster has to offer, if not my favourite restaurant that I have experienced in the country. Whilst the restaurant does have a light lunch menu, it appears to pride itself on dinner, with a menu that includes one of the finest 6oz rump steaks I have ever had and fresh fish served throughout the day. A drawback with Houstons Bar and Grill seems to be that with all foods seemingly served fresh, the menu can apparently change rather unexpectedly dependent on the fresh fish market, however I have never experienced this myself, rather just heard whisperings of it. As stated before, I do believe that many of the restaurants Leicester has on show can be overpriced, yet Houstons Bar and Grill is one of few that I would call fair. Customers can choose between 2 set dinners on an evening, with 2 courses costing £12.95 and 3 courses for £16.95. Unfortunately, a vegetarian menu that is modest in comparison to the likes of Bobbys means that my visits to Houstons Bar and Grill are not as frequent as I would like, but do not take my word for it, go and try yourself!
